Ask the Director

Submit questions in advance to julie@chetcolibrary.org (or on a card at the meeting) for library Director Julie Retherford to answer.

Some recent questions that will be answered: 

• Does the library have pornography in the children's area? 
• How do we decide which books to get rid of, and what do we do with them? Who decides which books have "inaccurate or misleading" information? 
• Is there a law that prevents us from relocating controversial books? 
• What is the relationship between Brookings CORE Response and the library? Should the library be a warming center for the unhoused? 
• What is the board's role in choosing books, planning programs, etc.
