Program Description

Event Details

The Chetco Community Public Library invites community members to an open Town Hall Meeting on July 14, 2022 at 6pm to hear about a new vision for Project Turnkey from Mary Pat Luetke-Stahlman and Diana Cooper, the Executive Directors of Oasis Advocacy & Shelter and Brookings CORE Response. Library Director Julie Retherford will moderate the discussion to ensure everyone has a chance to be heard.

Project Turnkey provides funding for emergency and transitional housing. Oasis and CORE are applying for the funding to create a program called WASSP (Wrap Around Support Services Program). WASSP will connect residents to housing, job placement, basic essential needs like clothes & food, and more.

To provide a site for WASSP, a Brookings motel would be transformed into transitional housing for survivors of domestic violence, sex assault, trafficking, and other forms of violence including systemic violence which impact unsheltered people.
