A free monthly film screening for the community, our Afternoon Indie Film events will feature top film selections from the Wild Rivers Film Festival and include filmmaker and festival leader Q&As or community discussions after many film screenings.
July's Film Selections: A Long Way to Nowhere and Mountaintop Legacy
This month's screening will be a double-feature of two captivating short documentaries about the wilderness trails and fire lookouts of Southern Oregon and Northern California.
Filmmaker in attendance! The director of these captivating documentaries, Vincent DiFrancesco, will be in attendance for a Q&A-style community discussion about our local wilderness areas and the challenges facing them.
About The Films:
A Long Way to Nowhere: A crew of young Americans endure a week-long traverse of Oregon’s rugged and fire-shapen Kalmiopsis Wilderness in an effort to revitalize a historic hiking trail. (Runtime: 29 minutes)
Mountaintop Legacy: This documentary short captures the restoration of Oregon's historic Bolan Mountain Fire Lookout
